SHULING WONG

Shuling Wong started her journey in the performing arts as a contemporary dancer working with various Australian based dance companies and independent dance artist. In 2016 – 2017, Shuling was also a member of The Society, Perth’s most established dance crew, competing in both local and international dance competitions.

After a year of traveling the United States and Canada, work in the performing arts, Shuling returned to Australia to study her Master of Arts and Cultural Management at The University of Melbourne and began her shift into the world of arts management.
Shuling career kicked off in 2018, working and volunteering at major cultural festivals such as Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival.

Shuling’s professional roles have included Artist Liaison at Castlemaine State Festival and AsiaTOPA Festival and 2IC Performing Arts Coordinator Rainbow Serpent Festival.

As a result of COVID-19, Shuling returned home to Perth, where she began working for Fringe World Festival as Program Coordinator (TWPG), The Society Academy as their Event Manager and Program Manager at The Rechabite.
Some of Shuling’s noteworthy achievements include launching Australia’s first ever 360° dance competition ‘The Orbit’ and developing a dancers retreat program as part of the of Good Vibes Production Company program.

Shuling’s goal for OFF-base is to bring contemporary dance to a wider range of audiences and making it more accessible and inclusive to broader communities.
